Elizabeth Harrison

Elizabeth Harrison was born and raised in Augusta, Georgia, and began her dance studies with the Augusta Ballet School under the instruction of Zanne Colton, Bon Ellis, Peter Powlus, and Thomas Shoemaker.  Elizabeth eventually became a member of Augusta Ballet II where she had the privilege of dancing with the professional company.  Elizabeth attended University of Cincinnati’s College Conservatory of Music for two years as a ballet major, while simultaneously dancing as a Trainee with the Cincinnati Ballet Company.  While at CCM, Elizabeth performed notable roles such as the title role in Firebird, William Forsythe’s New Sleep pas, as well as the Dark Angel in Balanchine’s Seranade.  Elizabeth was chosen to dance with Joffrey Ballet of Chicago where she danced in the American premiere of Sir Frederick Ashton’s Cinderella.   In 2007, Elizabeth moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to dance with Nashville Ballet II and was soon promoted to Apprentice with the professional company.  While with the company, Elizabeth danced in Paul Vasterling’s Carmina Burana, Romeo and Juliet, Nashville’s Nutcracker, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and was part of the initial creative process of the upcoming Macbeth.

In 2010, Elizabeth returned to school at Belmont University and is on track to graduate Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies, and then plans to attend graduate school for Physical Therapy.  Elizabeth has performed with StillPoint Dance Theatre as well as Vanderbilt Dance Theater while in school.  She is also starting her second year teaching dance at Harpeth Hall.  Elizabeth is excited to join Shauna Dever Dance and finds Shauna and each of the company dancers to be incredibly motivated and inspirational.
